David has been a headteacher for over 25 years including Counden Court in Coventry, Bradford Cathedral Secondary School, New College and Fulhurst Community College both in Leceister. He has held DCSF field officer roles for Excellence in Cities and Schools in National Challenge. He is an accredited SIP and NCA.

Anthony Briggs

Lead for Developmental Review

Anthony Briggs is a highly experienced School Inspector and trainer. He held senior management positions in secondary schools before becoming a local authority General Inspector-Adviser and School Improvement Officer.  Anthony trained as an Ofsted accredited school inspector in 1993 and became an Ofsted Registered Inspector (RgI) in 2000. He has considerable experience of inspecting academies, secondary and primary schools. He is a fully trained Children’s Centre inspector and Initial Teacher Education Inspector. He also has experience of inspecting and supporting international schools in countries including Europe, Indonesia, Taiwan and Singapore.  His vast experience of school improvement means that he is in increasing demand as a trainer and works throughout the country delivering bespoke training to local authorities, schools and academies.  Until recently he was Education Adviser and Lead Assessor with the Specialist Schools Unit of the Department for Education. For the last six years Anthony held the position of Principal Inspector with Ofsted’s inspection service provider for the north: CfBT inspections. 

Sir Dexter Hutt

Dexter Hutt was Headteacher of Ninestiles from 1988 to 2004.  He was also Chief Executive of Ninestiles Plus, the school based improvement arm of Ninestiles until 2011.  Ninestiles Plus has had contracts with the Government and/or Local Authorities to improve struggling schools – these have includedWaverleyand The International School which became the most improved secondary schools inBirminghamin 2003 and 2004 respectively.  Sir Dexter has also worked with schools in Indiana and in Cape Town, and has presented at conferences nationally and internationally.

He was Executive Leader of the Hastings Federation in East Sussex to fast track the improvement of three Hastings secondary schools. Sir Dexter was a Commissioner for the Commission for Racial Equality from 2004 to 2007. He is a member of the board of the Young People's Learning Agency.  He was knighted for services to education in 2004.

Kevin McAleese CBE

Kevin was Headteacher of Harrogate Grammar School, a large North Yorkshire comprehensive, after a first headship in Essex. He is an accredited SIP.
