Establishing a Trust

Establishing a suitable Trust organisation is a requirement if you are to submit a proposal to establish a Free School.

We are able to support you with our specialist legal experts who will provide:

• Advice and guidance in setting up a Trust (a company which is ‘limited by guarantee’) as the legal mechanism behind the school, and in controlling its assets.

• Support and guidance in ensuring that the new Free School will meet all of the conditions of the DfE’s Funding Agreement

• Advice during the process of appointing the Governing Body – to ensure that they are an effective  team with the essential skills and experience needed to achieve the  school’s ambition.
